Oakland Law Day of Action – Defending the Rule of Law
Start: Thursday, May 01, 2025•12:00 PM
End: Thursday, May 01, 2025•01:00 PM

Join fellow members of the Bay Area legal community for a Law Day of Action—a nationwide event to affirm our shared commitment to the rule of law, judicial independence, and the independence of the legal profession. With challenges to these core democratic values on the rise, this is a critical moment for us to speak up—together.
The local programs will be brief and powerful, featuring a welcome, a few short remarks, and a reaffirmation of the attorney’s oath.
UPDATE: We are excited to share that Retired Alameda County Superior Court Judge Winifred Smith will administer a reaffirmation of the attorney oath as part of the Oakland program. It’s a moment that promises to be both meaningful and unifying.
All legal professionals, bar associations, and community partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
