JOIN US AT THE FORUM WITH CLIMATE ADVOCATES!

Property & Casualty insurer's role in the climate crisis has gone overlooked for long enough. It is time to to hold the industry accountable and make polluters pay.

We have a massive opportunity to introduce a bill this session called the "Insuring Connecticut's Resiliency Policy."

The Connecticut General Assembly's Environment Committee will be holding an informational hearing on this policy next Thursday, January 22nd at 9am ET at the CT Legislative Office Building room #2B.

This policy would create a crucial revenue stream from a 5% surcharge placed on insurance policies of any existing or new fossil fuel infrastructures in Connecticut. These funds would be dedicated to climate resiliency projects in the state such as public awareness campaigns, flood risk data dissemination, construction of climate resilient infrastructure, etc.

We have a number of experts who will be testifying in favor of this policy including Amy Chester of Rebuild By Design, Sharon Lewis and CT based EJ activists and former insurance professional, Charles Slidders of CIEL and Carly Fabian of Public Citizen.

We are now hearing that the insurance industry, who has SIGNIFICANT power in CT politics, is organizing against this bill.
We need to make sure we out organize them, and have as many people as possible in the room for the forum!!
Join us in person at the Legislative Office Building in room #2B to support or speakers and show the Environment Committee the widespread support this policy has.

Let's make sure Connecticut insures OUR future, not fossil fuels!
