Community Choice Energy: An Alternative Electricity Model presented by Erin Mahan.
Note: this is 9 AM Pacific Coast Time, 10 AM Arizona Time, and 6 PM Central European Time and 7 PM East Africa Time.
Erin Mahan, N. Arizona climate activist, will continue with a sequel to a fact filled presentation on renewables in October now found at this link, https://www.nazcca.org/speaker-series-climate-talks-for-everyone.
Her next talk is set for 10 am Mountain Time or 6 PM Central European Time, Thursday, 6 November. She will present on CCE or Community Choice Energy, an Alternative Electricity Model. It enables cities and counties to purchase renewable electricity in bulk, offering residents lower rates, choice for a higher amount of renewable energy, and reinvestment into local programs such as microgrids and low income programs. The presentation discusses how this energy consumption model is already successful in several U.S. states, and how ratepayers in the state of Arizona are exploring it as a pathway toward affordability, resilience, and decarbonization.

Erin Mahan continues with these talks through invites to community groups and online talks around fair energy transition and Community Choice Energy. She also does local presentations in N. Arizona. Invite her to such a community presentation you organize in N. Arizona! This can be done in the column on the right.
Erin serves on the Board of the Northern Arizona Climate Change Alliance and is Vice President of Membership and Regulatory Affairs for the SunSpec Alliance, a global trade association advancing standards for distributed energy. Her work focuses on decentralizing the electric grid to enhance resilience, safety, and local empowerment. She frequently delivers talks to community groups, occasionally lectures at universities, regularly builds networks of dedicated advocates, and is a dedicated yogi and Naturkind. Erin champions open collaboration and creative problem-solving, and is recognized for inspiring individuals to take meaningful action toward achieving Net Zero goals.
