Private Equity is a growing concern, and CCAG and allies are organizing a legislative forum April 16 to educate lawmakers and the public.  Private equity investment seeks large, short-term profits, and is seeping into nearly every sector of our economy and public life.

Several bills seek to address private equity this session, in the Children's, Public Health, Housing and Aging Committees. The bankruptcy of three Connecticut hospitals and the bankruptcy of Concierge Apartments, the former Century Hills, can be traced to private equity. Testimony on bills this session has addressed its impact ib private equity on nursing homes, day care centers, housing, and more.

CCAG and allies will welcome keynote speaker Megan Greenwell, author of Bad Company: Private Equity and the Death of the American Dream (https://www.megangreenwell.com), which follows five people whose jobs and lives were upended by private equity in healthcare, journalism, retail, and housing. The forum will also feature legislative leaders and people in Connecticut whose lives have been impacted by private equity.

Attendees are welcome to join us virtually on Zoom, but we highly encourage you to join us in person! RSVP for the meeting link.
