Public Hearing on Minimum Wage Ordinance in Omaha

Start: Tuesday, June 16, 202602:00 PM

Location: Omaha-Douglas Civic Center 1819 Farnam St, Omaha, NE 68183 US

Omaha City Council is having a public hearing on Tuesday, June 16, on a proposed ordinance that would restore the $15 minimum wage that voters approved back in 2022 for all workers within the City of Omaha, that would increase annually scaled to Consumer Price Index.

Earlier this year, the Nebraska Legislature passed LB258, which overrode the will of the voters and capped annual increases to 1.75% and introduced sub-minimum wage for minors.

It's important that you show up, and that Omaha City Council hears your concerns about minimum wage in Nebraska, and the Nebraska Legislature ignoring the will of the voters, so that as a group, the Omaha community can be effective in building the structure to demand better working conditions.
