Rally for Action: Stop Shell's Pollution!

Start: Thursday, June 08, 2023 9:00 AM

Tired of Shell’s pollution and excuses from local politicians?

How many more toxic events must we endure from the Shell Plant?!

Join the Shell Accountability Coalition on Thursday, June 8 at 9am in Irvine Park in Beaver, PA for our first in-person rally since the toxic Shell plant came online. We’ll deliver our petition with more than 50k signatures to Shell, hear from local leaders, make clear our demands that Shell must immediately stop poisoning us and the Ohio River Valley, and celebrate our community.

At 10 am, we’ll walk across the street to the Beaver County Courthouse and pack the public Beaver County Commissioners Public Meeting. At the meeting, we’ll call on our Commissioners to do more to keep us safe! (please note there is limited capacity in the Conference Room)

For months, Shell has promised to be a good neighbor – but since opening, they’ve already blown through 3 air pollution limits and received 7 notice of violations. All the while, the Beaver County Commissioners – the leaders who have sworn to keep us safe – refuse to join us in holding Shell accountable. It’s time to break the silence and come together as one community.

We all deserve to live in a community where children, seniors, and every person can breathe clean air and drink clean water. The recent East Palestine train derailment has shown how dangerous petrochemicals are and how ineffective the government and corporations are after a disaster. We already live in a part of the country with high cancer rates and more than our share of toxic industry.
