Looking for a fun way to dip your toes into socialist theory?

The BDSA Membership Engagement Committee is excited to debut a Socialism 101 series.

First up, a group read along!

Every Monday evening for six weeks, starting on June 8th, we’ll be reading “The Communist Manifesto,” together, in person at the UNO Community Center.

We’ll each take turns reading aloud (Or you can choose to listen along instead), with natural pauses for conversation and reflection on what we’re reading/learning and how it relates to our lived experiences and the world around us.

“The Communist Manifesto” (1848) by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels (link to PDF here) is a foundational text of Marxism that — in its theory of class struggle and the role of the working class in revolutionary politics — remains relevant today.
