March to Stop Trump’s Budget Cuts
Donald Trump has released a partial budget for 2018 that slashes funds for the EPA, diplomacy and virtually every safety net program, including housing, education, Meals on Wheels, PBS and Legal Services, in order to transfer $54 billion to the Pentagon, border security, privatized prisons and the Wall. The Trumpscare bill passed by the House cuts 24 million people from health care and $880 billion from Medicaid to fund a tax cut for the rich. People will die as a result.
Trump will soon propose $800 billion more in cuts to Medicaid, Food Stamps, and even more from housing and education, to help pay for $5.6 trillion more in tax cuts for the rich. 12 million people will be displaced by cuts to HUD alone.
Trump’s “Death Budget” is a recipe for austerity, inequality, war, racism and fear.

Rally for the Peoples Budget: A Roadmap for the Resistance
On May 2 the Congressional Progressive Caucus released The People's Budget: A Roadmap for the Resistance for 2018. The People's Budget prevents cuts, increases funds for safety net programs and Social Security, invests $2 trillion in jobs and infrastructure, taxes the 1%, closes corporate tax loopholes, and cuts the Pentagon’s dangerous nuclear weapons buildup. It will be offered as an amendment to the House budget in June. Sign me up -- I'll be there on May 31!
