Hope For Change
What happened to Hope can not continue.
In Lancaster County, SC thousands of animals are suffering every year, needlessly. Unregulated backyard breeding continues with no regard for health or humane living conditions. We still see dogs kept on heavy log chains, embedded collars, animals with no protection from the elements. We see malnourished animals, parvo puppies, and cats and kittens that are sick, abandoned, or left to fend for themselves. Puppies and kittens are being sold in parking lots, at flea markets or dumped on backroads when homes can not be found. Dog fighting is happening all around us, hundreds of animals become victims of dog fighting in SC every year. Our local shelter can not keep up. Rescue organizations can not keep up. This problem can’t be left to continue. It is simply not sustainable and without action, it will only grow worse. The only way to change the outcome is to take actionable, preventable measures.
