It's estimated that 36% of Maui's full-time residents are tenants and that the state of Hawaiʻi faces the highest housing costs in the nation (source: UHERO). Many of us live in crowded conditions, barely getting by - often working 2 or more jobs, and many are being forced to leave the state or live without any housing at all.

We are a group of tenants and allies who are pushing back on the rental housing crisis on Maui, building tenant power, and working towards sustainable rental housing solutions.
