Judge shopping has become a favorite tactic of the right-wing legal movement seeking to enact extreme policies through the courts, contrary to the values of the American people, and it must be addressed.

By inventing reasons to file cases in jurisdictions where assignment to an ideologically motivated judge is all but assured, right-wing legal groups have successfully undermined Americans’ rights and the legitimacy of the court system.

We recently released new polling that showed 88 percent of Americans think judge shopping shouldn’t be allowed - that includes 90 percent of Independents, 90 percent of Republicans, and 86 percent of Democrats.

We hear a lot about how divided Americans are—but results like that show that the American people, on a broad, bipartisan basis, are ready for Congress to check an out-of-step judiciary.
