Parents for Palestine's Teach Palestine campaign aims to leverage our voices as parents to:
- Teach children about Palestine in schools
- Address anti-Palestinian racism in schools.
What we're fundraising for: We’re launching a new campaign to transform how Palestine is taught in schools across BC, starting with school board elections this October. The first big moment in our Teach Palestine campaign will be a push to elect school board trustees who support teaching the Nakba, and who want to address anti-Palestinian racism.
About us: Parents for Palestine is a volunteer-run multi-racial, interfaith, inclusive community of families on unceded Coast Salish territories. We build child-friendly spaces, organize Palestinian-centered cultural and educational events, engage in solidarity work, and use our voices as parents to demand justice for Palestinian people.
Why we're fundraising: To cover event and materials costs. We are not receiving foundation funding and options to fund activities targeting elections are limited.
How your donations will be used: We would like to support local hubs of parents to:
- Rent accessible venues for local events
- Print petitions, resources and materials
- Make sure that parent volunteers can eat and have childcare
Your donations will also help Parents for Palestine maintain its basic communication infrastructure so that we can reach out to our network and keep our other fundraisers for Palestine running.
Important: The donation you make using this form will be used by Parents for Palestine to support our organizing on unceded Coast Salish territories. Unlike our other fundraisers, these donations will be used to support our work here. To become a weekly sustaining donor to the Gaza Soup Kitchen, click here.
