7 Directions of Service Action Fund – Policy & Advocacy Work
7 Directions of Service Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit committed to advancing environmental justice, Indigenous rights, and community resilience through policy advocacy and civic engagement. Our mission is to amplify Indigenous leadership, protect sacred lands and waterways, and drive systemic change through grassroots organizing, lobbying, and public policy initiatives.
Our Focus Areas:
Rights of Nature Advocacy – We champion the legal recognition of ecosystems as living entities with inherent rights, working to pass Rights of Nature laws that protect our waterways, forests, and sacred lands from corporate exploitation.
Environmental & Climate Justice – We advocate for stronger environmental protections, push back against harmful fossil fuel infrastructure like pipelines, and support policies prioritizing frontline communities affected by climate change and pollution.
Indigenous Sovereignty & Self-Determination – We work alongside tribal nations and Indigenous grassroots movements to uphold treaty rights, land sovereignty, and cultural preservation through legal and legislative action.
Voter Engagement & Civic Participation – We mobilize Native communities to engage in the electoral process, ensuring their voices are heard in local, state, and federal decision-making. Our efforts include voter registration drives, education campaigns, and Get Out the Vote initiatives.
Community-Led Policy Development – We collaborate with impacted communities to draft and advocate for policies that center Indigenous knowledge, land stewardship, and environmental justice at all levels of government.
