Anti-Criminalization Collective DC

Washington, DC

Since 2023, Mayor Bowser and Councilmember Pinto, the chair of the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, have introduced numerous pieces of legislation that harken back to the racist 1994 crime bill and are deeply rooted in punishment and mass incarceration. In 2024, they combined the worst of the worst into the "Secure DC" omnibus bill, or “crimnibus”. The Us Not Crimnibus coalition came together to fight back and tell the Council not to throw DC under the crimnibus.

Us Not Crimnibus then became the Anti-Criminalization Collective who continue to resist criminalization in all forms in the District.
