MaskTogetherAmerica (MTA) is a volunteer organization created in 2020 to raise awareness by featuring maskers, sharing annotations of published materials on preventable respiratory infection, and hosting expert forums. Our public health education platform is supported by a huge community devoted to advocate about the layered approach in respiratory sickness prevention. We are a Long COVID support group for the patient communities.

MTA was initiated to support public health. As we have evolved over the years, we are now a community with the majority of our members that identify themselves as part of the high-risk population. As an organization, we are committed to stand with the abandoned communities facing the ongoing threat of respiratory infection and struggling to safely access health care and public spaces. Normalizing mitigation measures is about disability justice and health equity.

Tracking and reporting of cases provides essential public warnings. Education for the general public about the combined benefit of vaccination, masking, ventilation, testing, isolation and treatment can greatly reduce the risk of transmission, infection, and post-infection chronic illnesses. We need the multi-pronged approach to increase collective action. All governments need to embark on a cultural transformation in order to beat COVID-19, Flu and other preventable viral infections.
