No One's Ark

Ahoy Pirates for the Planet ☠️
No One's Arks is a non-profit organization that synergizes the creative arts with environmental education, advocacy, and activism to help clean up polluted waterways.
Using the idea of "Creative Cleanups," No One's Arks refurbishes old boats into multi-faceted academic, art, and wellness centers to host continuous event programming to generate community-funded ecological restoration projects. And with a crew of pirates leading the fleets, No One's Ark amplifies the voices and work of the local organizations who have been in this fight for far too long. It's time to help them make some BIG waves. Join our pirate takeover so we can support community initiatives and reclaim our sacred waters.
Welcome Aboard to No One's Ark ⚓️☘️

History:
To No One,
The story of Noah’s Ark is a powerful one; a courageous chronicle of one man’s ambition and altruism all to help keep others afloat. A legacy that we revere very much, as it inspired the very essence of this nonprofit. However, *No One’s Arks* does not look at the story as a historical text, but rather a prophecy. For the great flood is here! Not one of rain, but of mental miasma. The weather we are witnessing today is the manifestation of the storms raging in our brains. Our lands and waters are polluted because our minds are polluted. If we want to clean up the world, we must first begin with our consciousness. Or why don’t we do both? We are, all onboard *No One’s Arks*. By creating floating places of the upmost presence, we can begin to heal our world, both internally and externally. The flood is here…how well can we stay afloat?
Stay Floating,
No One

Pirate Rite of Passage ☠️
To No One,
They tell us our dreams are too big, after we told them our belief is even bigger.
They tell us the waters are too dirty, after we told them we’re cleaning them up.
They tell us we would never get any support, after we told them we have a ship full of pirates behind us.
So when they tell us that No One can do it, we say, “Exactly.”

First Project: Newtown Creek (Brooklyn/Queens)
First Ship: Schamonchi ☘️
Newtown Creek (originally known as maspaethes, mech-pe-is~it, or massapichtit) is one of the last waterways and areas in New York City that has yet to be claimed and gentrified by the powerful real estate lobby. We live in a city with more coastline than LA, Miami, and Chicago combined...and yet have hardly any access to it, and when we do, most of that water is highly contaminated, polluted, and poisonous. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity, not only to clean the creek, but to transform it into something special for the community, to give back to the people who make this place so great.
Our dream is simple: to rewild Newtown Creek into the Lenape-Brooklyn National Park, New York State's FIRST National Park. Restoring Newtown Creek to its former salt water estuary would be a beacon of light that would reverberate throughout the world. This is our chance to reclaim our land, our water, and power, for our own community, for generations to come. The seed has already been planted; it’s happening. We just hope you join our journey and help us along the way.
Please feel free to ask any questions or share any ideas. A pirate for the planet is a pirate of No One’s Arks!
