Qommittee
ABOUT US
Drag is joy. And in a time of unprecedented attacks on drag artists and free expression, we're bringing drag artists together to protect each other, support each other, and help each other thrive. We’re trying to build something NEW and need you to join us.
Our Story
We’re an all volunteer network that’s trying build something new. Launched in Pride Month 2024, Qommittee unites drag artists who have faced threats, violence, and harassment across America. Our founding members include survivors of the Club Q and Pulse nightclub shootings, artists who faced church firebombings in Ohio, and performers targeted by power grid attacks in North Carolina. Together, we're building the support network we wish we'd had when we were attacked.
Our Vision
We envision a world where drag artists can focus on spreading joy and making a living rather than fearing hate. We're creating this future by:
Supporting drag artists and venues facing immediate threats
Leading with those most marginalized, including performers in rural areas, artists of color, and gender-expansive individuals
Help performers navigate the business side of drag
Connect isolated artists with resources and community
Build leadership among drag artists in small and medium-sized cities
Document patterns of organized hate to inform advocacy
