Women Cross DMZ
Formed in 2014, Women Cross DMZ (WCDMZ) mobilizes women globally for peace in Korea through education, advocacy, and organizing. We are a leading voice in the movement calling for a formal end to the Korean War and the replacement of the armistice with a peace agreement. We have helped catalyze new collaborations such as the U.S. based Korea Peace Network, have spoken to college audiences, community groups, and faith-based organizations, and helped mobilize a broad grassroots network of local, national and international peace organizations while promoting women's leadership in building peace. At the core, our work is not just about ending the Korean War -- which technically never ended -- but about completely rethinking our approach to peace and security by looking at foreign policy through a gender lens.
