Don’t Let the Legislature Be Bullied by Avangrid and Eversource!
Connecticut’s utility giants—Avangrid and Eversource—are waging an all-out war against accountability, and they’re targeting the one person standing in their way: PURA Chair Marissa Gillett. They’ve filed excessive complaints, questioned her ethics without merit, launched a lawsuit against PURA, and poured millions into lobbying—all to scare the legislature into pushing her out.
We know exactly why they’re doing this: because she’s doing her job. For the first time in decades, we have a regulator who puts consumers and clean energy ahead of corporate profits, and the utilities will stop at nothing to maintain their monopoly on power—literally and politically. If they succeed in bullying the legislature into removing Gillett, it will send a chilling message: PURA is a toothless agency, and no one who wants to do the job right will step up in the future.
We refuse to let that happen. Join us in demanding that our legislature stand up to the utilities’ corporate bullying and protect the integrity of our regulatory system. The people of Connecticut elected their legislature to fight for the public—not for the interests of monopolies.
No one likes a bully. Tell the Executive Nominations Committee to stand up for themselves and stand up for us by protecting Marissa Gillett’s position in PURA.
