Historic: A Majority of Senate Dems Voted to Block Weapons to Israel

Sen. Chris Van Hollen speaks in the Senate on the plight of Palestinian children starved to death by Israel.
On Wednesday, July 30, a majority of Senate Democrats voted to block weapons to Israel--1,000-pound bombs, JDAM bomb kits, and automatic assault rifles.
Israel is using these and other US taxpayer-funded weapons in its forced starvation of and genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Shamefully, 73 Senators, including 20 Democrats and all Republicans, refused to vote to block these weapons and chose to deepen US complicity in Israel’s atrocities.

While voting to block these weapons to Israel is the bare minimum that Senators should be doing to stop our complicity in Israel's atrocities, this vote goes to show that Democratic elected officials are finally starting to listen to their voters who overwhelmingly want to stop arming Israel.
