Tell our government to Fix Trucking Now!

The trucking industry is broken.

Truck drivers and owner operators keep Canada’s economy moving, yet they experience wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and are denied basic human rights on the job, and have been for years. The lawlessness of the industry has driven down wages and working conditions, and it’s only getting worse. Real enforcement of drivers' and owner-operators' rights is almost non-existent, while loopholes in the law allow bad employers to act without consequences.

  • While trucking only makes up 17% of federally-regulated employment, 85% of all confirmed Canada Labour Code violations were against trucking employers.
  • Ottawa has collected less than 20 per cent of the $6 million in payment orders issued to trucking firms since 2022.
  • Almost all of the publicly listed penalties issued to trucking companies by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) were $12,000 or less.

That’s why, Justice for Truck Drivers, West Coast Trucking Association, and AZ Canadian Truckers Association are connecting drivers across Canada to demand change now. It's time to Fix Trucking Now!

We're demanding the government take action to:

  • Guarantee Minimum pay rates
  • Ensure no unpaid work, no late pay
  • End wage theft
  • Protect drivers, hold employers accountable
  • Invest in better infrastructure
