Tell Starbucks CEO: I won’t cross the picket line!
Starbucks workers are going on strike.
For decades, Starbucks was recognized as a progressive, socially conscious corporation. But now corporate greed is squeezing both sides, so long-time customers are calling it a ripoff and workers are demanding better working conditions.
Now Starbucks Workers United is escalating the pressure by going on strike and we have 3 critical ways you can support workers:
-
Delete the Starbucks app from your phone
-
Do not make purchases at Starbucks for the duration of the strike
-
Send a message to Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol and let him know you stand with the workers!
Since December 2021, more than 12,000 Starbucks workers nationwide have joined the union. But instead of sitting down and negotiating a fair contract with the union, Starbucks just decided to shutter 400 stores -- including 59 union locations.
Starbucks’ CEO made $96 million in his first year with the company, and his solutions are to close stores and add AI to every step of the process, while ramping up union busting. Meanwhile, workers are still facing short staffing, unpredictable scheduling, low pay, and rising health care costs.
Starbucks workers broke down for More Perfect Union why Starbucks sucks now, and how worker organizing can help. Watch that report here:
With the holiday season approaching, we need to stand in solidarity with the workers who made Starbucks a global icon in the first place.
Tell Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol that you’re deleting the Starbucks app and will not cross the picket line while Starbucks workers are on strike!
