Pass the Constraints Reduction Ordinance at the SF Board of Supervisors!

Save affordable housing funding in SF!

This is a make-or-break moment for the housing element. The Board of Supervisors must take action on the city's eight-year housing plan—called the housing element—to accommodate 82,000 new homes by 2031. The Board just missed the deadline set by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) to pass Mayor London Breed's landmark housing element implementation law. The board has a grace period of less than 30 days to finally pass it. If the supervisors fail, HCD will revoke San Francisco's eligibility for affordable housing grant funds. Send a pre-written letter now to save funding for future affordable housing.

After sending a letter, please sign up to give public comment at City Hall Room 250 around 2:30 PM on Monday, November 27. The meeting agenda can be found here.

If you live in Districts 3, 5, or 7, please also give your district supervisor a call and ask them to pass the Constraints Reduction Ordinance with the changes HCD has requested! Find your supervisor using this link.

District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin: (415) 554-7450

District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston: (415) 554-7630

District 7 Supervisor Myrna Melgar: (415) 554-6516

Hundreds of millions of dollars in critical funding may depend on this bill. Your letter could make the difference.
