WEDNESDAY • OCTOBER 21 • 1pm EST • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services • WASHINGTON DC

JOIN leading public health officials, health workers, and families of loved-ones lost to COVID • Gather behind Botanic Garden at 100 Maryland Ave SW by 12:30pm for a short march to HHS

After the rally: turn mourning into dance resistance, with an optional funk procession down Independence Ave!

President Trump is demanding that the FDA approve an untested vaccine before Election Day, and has refused to sign onto the World Health Organization’s COVAX facility to collaborate on vaccine research with 172 other countries. Taxpayers have paid more than $10 billion for COVID-19 vaccine research, we need to ensure those funds create a people’s vaccine that is safe, effective and available to everyone, everywhere.

Yet, Donald Trump and his administration have done the opposite. Their negligence has caused the deaths of over 210,000 people in the United States and the suffering of millions more. Now, the President is demanding that the FDA approve an untested vaccine before Election Day, and he has refused to sign onto the World Health Organization’s COVAX facility to collaborate on vaccine research with 172 other countries.

Taxpayers have paid more than $10 billion for COVID-19 vaccine research, we need to ensure those funds create a people’s vaccine that is safe, effective and available to everyone, everywhere.

RSVP to JOIN THIS PROTEST AND PROCESSION: We'll send an email with all the details, transit and parking instructions after you RSVP.

WE'RE FIGHTING FOR a tested, proven, safe and effective vaccine, made available as a public good to everyone, everywhere in the world, for free, without patent monopoly barriers to access. A People’s Vaccine would be a critical health step toward global health equity regardless of insurance status, immigration status, race or zipcode.

WE'RE FIGHTING AGAINST the Trump Administration using an unproven and unsafe vaccine to sway the election • Global vaccine apartheid in which high-income countries buy their way to the front of the line and leave the world's poor behind • White House maneuvers to undermine science and contradict respected experts at FDA, CDC, WHO and NIH.

WHO WE ARE: Families of those stricken and lost to COVID, scientists and researchers, health workers, organizers and activists from a dozen organizations: SPACES in Action, Public Citizen, Long Live GoGo, R2H Action [Right to Health], Free the Vaccine for COVID-19, Treatment Action Group, Center for Popular Democracy Action, Universities Allied for Essential Medicines, Torah Trumps Hate, Health GAP, AIDS Action Baltimore (and a fast growing list of other organizers!)

NOTE: Everyone is welcome (and much needed!) for this urgent action to stop a crisis exacerbated by Donald Trump. Come dressed to honor those who have died as we mobilize those who have survived. We will close the rally with marching and dancing in the streets so bring your Sunday Best and your walking shoes!

Our goal is to center people who have lost loved ones, along with the scientists and health workers fighting the pandemic from the front lines. If any of these are you, and you feel comfortable sharing your story with the media or with policymakers, please indicate this in the sign up form.

Once you click "start writing", you'll have the opportunity to RSVP (if you can make it in person) AND send a letter to Congress making these demands. You'll receive an email with directions for transit and parking, as well as the meet up addresses.
