The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) proposed a rule to change recommended minimum planning time from the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP 6).  

• DESE has NOT included protected self-directed plan time in their MSIP 6 recommended language.
• DESE has NOT included planning time for counselors, librarians, and other certified staff.
• The Missouri School Improvement Program is the standard used to evaluate and accredit all public school districts.
• Past versions of MSIP  included a specific recommendation for 250 minutes of plan time for teachers. We stand to lose precious time!
• This isn’t a done deal! We need your voice in order to protect our time.
