Stop Cubs Parking Lot Expansion
The Cubs recently proposed a plan to expand the Camry Lot in the hopes of alleviating gameday traffic.
However, this will only incentivize more driving, creating even more congestion. An expanded parking lot and more congestion undermine the unique pedestrian-friendly experience that Wrigleyville offers.
At a time when more and more Lakeview residents are struggling to find affordable housing, the Cubs would rather build a surface parking lot to serve out-of-state drivers instead of investing in the community that gives them their unique world famous stadium.
Their property could do so much more for our neighborhood, including providing more housing for our community (image below is one rendering of what's possible).

44th Ward Alderman Lawson has the power to reject this plan. Our letter campaign encourages him to work with the Cubs to create a more forward-looking plan that benefits the neighborhood and its residents.
