Support more housing in West Los Angeles
A proposed 39-unit housing development at 10535 West Missouri Avenue will replace three existing homes with a new six-story apartment building featuring a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. The project will include six affordable units—three for very low-income households and three for moderate-income households—along with 37 bicycle parking spaces.
The project is seeking approval from the City of Los Angeles, but is facing pushback from local NIMBYs citing the usual suspects- "neighborhood character"(multiple other developments of a similar size are already there or in development), "what about parking?"(plenty included, both auto with 65 spots and bike with 37), and "this will make traffic unbearable"(it's situated just off a major road with frequent bus service and within a mile of a stop on the D-line extension).
