Sen. Tim Kaine and Sen. Rand Paul have introduced a bipartisan Iran War Powers Resolution in response to indications from Trump that he may launch unauthorized and illegal strikes against Iran. Tell your Senators to cosponsor the Kaine/Paul Iran War Powers Resolution and oppose war with Iran.

Update: January 15, 2026
In response to the recent protests in Iran, the Trump administration has indicated it may take military action against Iran. We must call on our Members of Congress to call for and support a vote on an Iran War Powers Resolution to prevent war with Iran.

In a Quinnipiac poll released on January 14, 2026, 70% of voters said they oppose military action against Iran in response to the protests. Military intervention will not bring freedom and prosperity to the Iranian people, it is also opposed by the Iranian people inside Iran.

We need a diplomatic solution over Iran's nuclear program, normalized relations, and Trump's "maximum pressure" campaign and sanctions on Iran must be lifted as millions of ordinary Iranians have been suffering as a direct result of failed U.S. policies.  

The U.S. Senate voted against (47-53) Sen. Kaine's Iran War Powers Resolution. Sen. Rand Paul was the only Republican to vote 'yes' with Democrats and Sen. Fetterman was the only Democrat to vote 'no' with Republicans.

The U.S. bombed Iran without Congressional authorization. This is unconstitutional. Write your Members of Congress NOW and tell them to support the Iran War Powers Resolutions expected to get a vote this coming week. A vote on Sen. Kaine's Iran War Powers Resolution is expected on Thur (June 26) or possibly earlier.

In the early hours of June 13, 2025, Israel launched horrific and illegal strikes on Iran in the heart of its capital, Tehran, killing scores of civilians. Israel carried out targeted assassinations of top leaders, scientists, and a negotiator involved in diplomatic talks with the U.S.

As some Members of Congress issue pro-war messages of support for Israel’s military assault on Iran, we must say loudly and clearly:  the American people do not support a war on Iran.

We urge Members of Congress to call for and support diplomatic means to de-escalate, rather than fan the flames of war.
