Tell Senators to Support HB737 THURSDAY - as passed by the committee! No floor amendment!

We have just received word that some Senators, in response to industry pressure, will attempt to put an amendment on HB737 during the Senate's floor session this week. This amendment is meant to stop the rule making process for determining the safe levels of PFAS in our drinking water. It would literally stop this process dead in its tracks for at least 2 years.  We cannot allow this to happen. Just last week the NH Attorney General filed two lawsuits against the manufacturers of these chemicals - this validates everything we have been saying for years.  We need stricter regulation on these toxins in our water. This step would also put the entire bill in jeopardy.

The bill is supposed to get stakeholders to the table to address the environmental crisis in Merrimack. NH Department of Environmental Services says that drinking water in 65 square miles of our state has been polluted by Saint Gobain in Merrimack. They came here from Vermont, after doing the same thing there, because NH has more lax environmental restrictions. People have been drinking contaminated water and now we want a health study and action. But it won't happen unless everyone has a seat at the table not just the polluters.

Please email NH Senators and tell them to support HB737 - WITH NO FLOOR AMENDMENTs -this Thursday.
