Tell the US Senate: Stop the SPEED Act. We can’t trust Trump.

The Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act, passed the House just before the holidays on a party line vote. The Trumpy problem with the bill, and all “bipartisan permitting reform” is that climate hawks want more transmission lines to move wind and solar, while fossil fueled Republicans want to undo bedrock environmental laws to build more oil and gas pipelines. And of course Trump just wants to cancel every clean energy project he can.

Climate hawks sent more than 20,000 emails to the US House warning them not to trust Trump, and the week of Christmas, he proved us right by unilaterally canceling 5 major east coast wind projects (or trying to). Trump says it's due to "national security concerns," but everyon knows he just hates clean energy - especially in states that tend to vote blue.

Thankfully, Senate climate hawks are justifiably furious, and have cut off all bipartisan talks on "permitting reform." That suits us fine, since no deal is better than a dirty deal. Just as important, it proves the point we've been making all along that you can't trust Trump when it comes to energy policy and Democrats shouldn't even try.

But climate hawks need t keep squawking up to make sure EVERY Senator knows: Trump's energy policy is a poison pill for any legislation, and with voters who will be socked with higher prices as a result.

Use this page to email your Senators and tell them Trump is the problem with their energy policy, and with voters.
