Tell Worcester School Committee- It's time for Sex Ed!

Monday April 26, the Standing Committee on Teaching, Learning and Student Supports met to discuss next steps for sex education in the Worcester Public Schools and to create space for community input. Many Worcester residents, including young people, parents, and educators, spoke to the importance of choosing and implementing a single comprehensive, inclusive sex education curriculum. In the end, by a 2-1 vote (Jack Foley and Molly McCullough in favor; John Monfredo opposed), the Standing Committee passed four motions to implement the Rights, Respect, Responsibility curriculum with the training, staffing and support needed to ensure Worcester Public School students have the comprehensive, inclusive, accurate health education they deserve.

This is a critical step forward, but it's not official until the full School Committee votes to approve the Standing Committee's decision. So we need you to let School Committee members that have expressed support for comprehensive health ed to know that you need them to finish the great work they've started.
