On Sept. 17, the Arlington County Board unanimously approved the Courthouse West Special Land Use Study with an allowance for up to 14 stories for the future development.

Although we advocated for 16 stories (aligning with the Planning Commission), the County staff recommended only 12 stories, and local civic associations wanted the site capped at 6 stories.

With this context, the vote is a win for more housing, and we should send the County Board a quick "Thank You" note.
