Thank You for Including Dr. Ahmad! - Keep Diversifying WAMC’s The Roundtable

Diversity WAMC: Grateful for Dr. Ahmad's Voice - Keep Pushing for Justice & Representation on WAMC

Did you know that WAMC’s The Roundtable had their first Palestinian American guest on air this past July, almost two years into the genocide? Due to consistent pressure from activist groups such as the Palestinian Rights Coalition and Jewish Voice for Peace, Palestinian American guest, Dr. Ahmad Abu-Hakmeh, joined The Roundtable to provide a counter to Zionist talking points commonly shared by other guests of the program.

The importance of Dr. Abu-Hakmeh’s inclusion was highlighted by one letter writer on the 9/16/25 episode, who said, “Listening to Ahmad just now enabled me to breathe. I’m so grateful he is telling the truth on your program.”

The inclusion of Palestinian voices, voices critical of Israel, and people willing to discuss the role of the United States in this genocide, must continue and expand. Demand that WAMC host more Palestinian voices and diverse perspectives on air and, in doing so, live up to its own commitment to community representation and accurate journalism.

We are glad to see they have changed their approach by including Dr. Ahmad Abu-Hakmeh, and hope our joint efforts will ensure their inclusion of multiple Palestinian voices.
