Food prices are climbing, medicaid and numerous aids to support the poor or the veterans or even homeowners are being pulled back. Military budgets are being pushed higher. Behind this, fossil fuels emissions threaten our existence, this in often two ways.

They are a threat multiplier, namely they raise the threat of conflict, of violence and that calls for more militarization which costs dearly.  Now in the US and Europe and Russia and China global warming is spurring on militarization and worsening conflicts. Why does a world leader look hungrily at Greenland or the Panama? Why is Nato urged to expand its budget?

But fossil fuel increases are also a loss and damage multiplier, a cost multiplier. The prices of the simplest breakffast items have in recent times been pushed higher: coffee, coco, orange juice, and olive oil. Poorer or middle income people are struggling to pay bills for food or schooling or homes or retirement pushed over the edge by global warming. Consider how fossil fuels is spurring climate change impacting crops! Consider why home insurance is rising or why it is refused in California, or Florida or European coasts. Consider what it means if floods, or fires, or droughts or hurricanes come--is that damage and loss affordable under a heap of other burdens, especially in the global south?

What we see is the gains to fossil fuel giants and the richer oligarchs, the billionaires, who have entered government to get richer. One US senator notes that behind the three richest oligarchs of the planet at a US presidential inauguration were 13 other billionaires appointed to lead the charge to cut back in the very dire needs people have,  for medicaid, or social security, or education, or veteran benefits, or reducing fossil fuel emissions. Not far behind are European politicians especially on the right flank.

The fossil emission reduction will come ultimately as the most costly, not just a threat or loss or damage multiplier but of human existence across the globe. The most powerful response where we have leverage is to threaten the greedy pocketbooks of such billionaires and their political friends, to  boycott them.  We need to start to drain the swamp.

The first boycott stage has already begun as many unorganized cut back on X, or Teslas or using facebook. The next bigger step is an organized boycott, to single one oligarch or institution at a time,  to boycott directly and sustainably. Amazon or Tesla are vulnerable. There is power in focus.

We therefore launch here the start of a billionaire boycott, urging people to vote where the focussed boycott should begin. Urge your boycott by selecting the first target, here in the right column, allowing at a minimum one email to confirm one vote. After 30 days, we will announce our billionaire boycott target! And get others to sign on too! We must stop the billionaires and behind them their sanctioning the damage of our planet.

In signing this petition, we hope you then strive to join the boycott such as not buying a single product from Amazon, or not using X, or leaving facebook for some other app such as Blue Sky. There is power in our numbers! You build those numbers.
