CSV UPLOAD TEST Support Affordable Homes on Parking Lots in Downtown Menlo Park

Yes to New Affordable Homes Downtown
We support Menlo Park’s proposal to create hundreds of new, affordable homes on city-owned parking plazas downtown! We know that to build affordable homes, we need land, money and public will.
The city owns the land, and the land is worth a lot of money! All that is left is public will and as a huge first step, the land owner (the City) wants to build affordable homes!
We, the public, do too!
We all benefit when local employees, young families, seniors & teachers can afford to live here. Affordable homes prevent homelessness and stabilize communities by allowing more of our children, working families, and seniors to stay here. Local businesses thrive when they have customers and employees living nearby who are not burdened by too-high housing costs. When older residents can downsize into new, smaller homes, it frees up homes for families. Homes downtown, near transit, allow people of all ages and abilities to access local businesses and amenities without a car.
Menlo Park can be part of a bigger solution to ensure everyone has a safe, stable place to call home by building new affordable homes on our downtown parking lots.
