Demand Justice for De'Andre Johnson
Mayor Muriel Bowser and Acting Police Chief Pamela Smith
July 24th would have been De'Andre Johnson's 32nd birthday.
De'Andre was a young Black man who was handcuffed, shot in the back, and murdered by DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) cop Juwan Jefferson on October 18, 2021. The details surrounding the incident are still unclear, but what is clear is that another life has been taken from us too soon, and we cannot sit idly by.
De'Andre should be getting hugs from his mother, taking in all of his sister's and brother's love and laughter, and being filled with joy watching his kids' eyes sparkle as he blows out his candles. Instead, his family and community are mourning this terrible loss.
We cannot allow police violence against Black people to continue without consequences. We must demand change and demand it now.
One way to do this is by signing the petition demanding justice for the victim of this police shooting.
Sign this petition and demand justice for De'Andre, his family and community!
