Leicester for fair supply chains
Shockat Adam MP, Liz Kendall MP and Shivani Raja MP
Ask our local MPs, Shockat Adam, Liz Kendall and Shivani Raja, to support a new UK law to protect forests and the rights of Indigenous Peoples and others around the world. You can join the movement for fair supply chains in Leicester and beyond...
Precious forests around the world are being destroyed at an alarming rate. From the tropical rainforests of the Amazon and in Southeast Asia, to the Cerrado in South America, ancient trees and other habitats are being destroyed to make way for palm oil and timber plantations, vast soy fields and mega cattle farms. UK companies are profiting from global supply chains that destroy habitats worldwide, with devastating consequences for wildlife, the climate, and communities. We need a new law that requires UK companies to prevent harm to people and the environment in their supply chains, wherever they operate.
By demanding a new law, you’ll help transform how UK companies operate globally. Alongside affected communities and international partners, you’ll be part of a growing movement that prioritises planet over profit. And you’ll add your voice to thousands demanding that corporations are held legally accountable for the environmental harms and human rights abuses in their supply chains.

I am deeply concerned about the plight of the world’s forests and the people who depend on them for their livelihoods. Companies are exploiting forests for profit, communities are suffering and precious wildlife is disappearing. Forest loss is also a major contributor to climate breakdown.
I urge you to do all you can to protect forests. Please sign the Good Business Matters Pledge and support a new law holding UK companies to account for human rights abuses and environmental harm – including all deforestation – in their supply chains.
