Tell Amazon's VP of Health & Safety: Meet with Injured Amazon Workers!
Sarah Rhoads, Vice President of Global Workplace Health & Safety at Amazon
Since July, we’ve urgently requested a meeting with Amazon’s VP of Global Workplace Health & Safety, Sarah Rhoads, to address the company’s injury rate, which is more than double the industry average, and our experiences of being silenced and discarded after on-the-job injuries.
But Amazon refuses to listen. On July 15, when injured workers tried to deliver a letter with our stories to their NY office, we were shut out, denied even the chance to step inside the building.

Dear Sarah Rhoads:
Please meet with injured current and former Amazon workers to discuss the extremely high rate of serious injuries at Amazon, the way workers have been impacted by these injuries, and solutions to this serious problem.
Hundreds of Amazon workers have shared their injury stories with Warehouse Life. These stories include a worker who was forced to work through a torn ACL/MCL, drivers who were mauled by dogs then forced to continue on their routes, a worker who was prevented from calling 911, a worker who was forced to pay for her own ambulance, and many more. In most of the stories, Amazon blocked workers’ comp benefits, violated workers’ medical accommodations, or shared misinformation to discourage workers from pursuing a case. Workers' lives and those of their families have been permanently impacted by these injuries—physically, emotionally, and financially.
In 2022, CEO Andy Jassy wrote a letter to shareholders saying that there was “no silver bullet” for solving injuries at Amazon. But workers who have spent years in Amazon’s warehouses and driving routes are intimately familiar with these injuries and know that Amazon can address the problem. We look forward to working with you to discuss how to best address these serious issues.
Please set up a meeting with injured workers by sharing your availability with info@warehouselife.org.
Thank you.
