Tell Adidas, Amazon, Apple, H&M, Shein, & Unilever: Stop Trashing the Planet!
CEOs & shareholders of Adidas, Amazon, Apple, H&M, Shein, & Unilever
It’s time to hold big brands accountable for trashing the planet with plastic pollution and waste.
Online marketplaces are known for super fast shipping and one-click checkouts, but this convenience comes at a cost. Consumption on this extreme level devastates the environment, actively harms frontline communities, and is not sustainable.
We are calling on some of the world's largest companies in their sectors—Adidas, Amazon, Apple, H&M, Shein, & Unilever—to immediately reduce their use and production of plastic packaging and cheap disposable products that are trashing our planet.
By publicly demanding that these companies scale back their production rates and materials, we’re applying pressure to the biggest polluters and contributors of waste and overconsumption.
These companies—among the biggest polluters in the world in the consumer goods, tech, and fashion sectors—are responsible for shipping a huge number of products made and packaged in toxic plastic. These items are often intentionally designed to break, become outdated, and be forced to be replaced rather than repaired.
The waste crisis is consuming our planet and we’re running out of time to course correct the damage.
We’re demanding Adidas, Amazon, Apple, H&M, Shein, & Unilever immediately enact the following institutional changes, taking accountability and action for the damage they continue to cause:
Set Clear Reduction Goals: All companies should aim to drastically reduce plastic in products and packaging by a minimum of 25% by 2030, 50% by 2035, and 75% by 2040.
Set Reuse Targets: These companies should set ambitious reuse targets and report on their progress publicly on an annual basis, at a minimum.
Promote Reusable Options: These brands should develop programs that encourage customers to choose reusable packaging solutions—and make them widely available.
There’s no time—or resources—to waste.
