Los Angeles is facing an unprecedented housing shortage that is driving up rents, displacing long-time residents, and making it harder for working families to remain in the city. Addressing this crisis requires approving well-designed, transit-oriented housing projects like 6000 Hollywood Boulevard.

This proposal would redevelop a former auto dealership into a vibrant, mixed-use campus that includes:

- 350 new homes, including 44 affordable homes for Very Low Income households

- Ground-floor retail and restaurant space that supports local businesses

- Office space that brings jobs closer to housing

- Publicly accessible open space and pedestrian-oriented design

- A location near major transit and jobs along Hollywood Boulevard

This project represents exactly the kind of infill development Los Angeles needs: housing near transit, homes at multiple income levels, and active uses that strengthen neighborhood vitality. Concentrating growth in transit-rich areas helps reduce traffic, lower climate pollution, and make better use of existing infrastructure.

Delaying or denying projects like 6000 Hollywood Boulevard would worsen the housing crisis and push growth farther from jobs and transit — increasing displacement, commute times, and environmental harm. Approving this project is a concrete step the City can take to address housing affordability, economic opportunity, and sustainability.
