- Communications Committee: Manages AFROSOC’s internal and external communications by producing statements, newsletters, and digital content, ensuring consistent messaging and strategic commission voice.

What are National Working Groups & Committees?
As of “Section 5 Working Groups” of our Bylaws, working groups, committees and work areas may be formed by any member of AFROSOC by submitting a Committees Proposal to the general body for a 60% simple majority vote. Working groups, committees and work areas shall have at least one co-chair, who acts as a point person for delegating tasks and coordinating with the Executive Committee and the general membership.
- Working Groups: External, long-term structure that administers a specific activity of AFROSOC such as public events, projects, and more for the broader DSA membership that may not only be for AFROSOC membership.
- Committees: Internal support and advisory bodies that strengthen AfroSoC’s infrastructure by developing toolkits, trainings, communications, and other internal support, by and for local affiliates.
- Temporary Work Areas: These Temporary Work Areas are specifically for short-term, ad-hoc projects. These Work Areas do not need leadership to keep this type of work going. We currently do not have any active Work Areas.
