The Plan: Host a Vote Yes visibility event to stimulate a surge in voter participation for the Special Election to Vote Yes for Virginia's redistricting. Do it your way.

Let's make it happen this critical year for your early vote location that opens either Friday, April 10 or Saturday April 11th - which gives you plenty of opportunities to rally your friends and do something to encourage early voting.

We must do this, this year! This is an important easy lift - go vote with your friends, or encourage your neighbors to join you at a specific time and work with your local Democratic Committee to see who is staffing the polls and connect with them.

The Visibility Method: See the Herndon Event.

1) Choose a high-traffic corner preferably with a traffic light or stop sign near an Early Voting Site.

2) Set a time and date; e.g.,: 4 - 5 pm on Fri 4/10, Sat 4/11, Fri 4/17, and/or Sat 4/18.

3) Invite a group of trusted participants: Could be 5 or 15 or 20 people.

4) Bring Signs:

Remember, the sidewalks are a First Amendment space. You do not need a permit to be out there demonstrating.

The Results: NoVA Community Action Team did this in September 2025 to boost voter turnout for CD 11’s Special Election. They had 3 Visibility Sites, near 2 Early Voting locations. At the Visibility Sites, participants handed flyers to motorists as they stopped at lights, telling them about the election. Eyes widened, they thanked us, and then they signaled, changed lanes, and went to vote.

*People working at the polling places reported a surge in voter arrivals during the short window of our visibility events.*
