“Malliotakis Monday #4: Health Care and the Federal Government Shutdown Showdown – What Congress Must Do”
Start: Monday, October 20, 2025•12:00 PM
It's time for Rep. Nicole Malliotakis to take action to keep our health insurance affordable ...NOW!
Join Staten Islanders and other New Yorkers and our elected officials for a spirited rally on at 12 noon Monday, October 20th outside Malliotakis' Staten Island office (located at 1698 Victory Boulevard at Beechwood Place in Castleton Corners.) Together, we will demand she stand up and fight for affordable health insurance for everyday people, and not just bow down to her party bosses' political agendas.
Bring relevant signs and banners!
Please invite others to attend:
Can't make it in person? Contact Rep. Malliotakis while this rally is going on (or afterwards) to tell her to end the government shutdown by working across the political aisle to keep health insurance affordable for everyone.

What this is all about:
The federal government is shut down right now because Nicole Malliotakis and her congressional colleagues refuse to extend Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium subsidies that make it possible for 22 million people across the US to afford health insurance, including 2 million New Yorkers. 4 million people nationally will likely be forced to drop their coverage and become uninsured because their premiums will skyrocket. Nicole and her colleagues say "we can talk about it later", yet open enrollment starts at the beginning of next month, so there's literally no time to delay any more!
This crisis affects all of us and not just those of us enrolled in ACA health plans -- as more people become uninsured, health care prices, insurance premiums, and out-of-pocket costs will go up for everyone, and our insurance markets will degrade.
