NY-11 for Health Care
Some politicians in Washington are taking steps to drastically cut spending on federal health care programs in order to pay for huge tax cuts for big corporations and billionaires.
No matter what kind of health insurance you and your family have --Medicaid, Medicare, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, or Affordable Care Act-- your coverage is coming under attack. In addition, our hospitals, community health centers, nursing homes, and home care programs will lose the funding they need to serve all of us.
NY-11 Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, who serves southwest Brooklyn and Staten Island in Congress, just voted for a budget plan that has set this legislative process in motion. We're marching to her Bay Ridge office to tell her what these important federal health care programs mean to us, our families, and our communities. Health care professionals, workers, advocates, and patients will also help us understand what's going on, and we can do to protect and improve the health care programs we count on.
We'll all gather in front of a local health care center at 4th Ave. & Senator St., and then step-off to head over to Rep. Malliotakis' office at Third Ave. & 77th St. People from outside the NY-11 district are welcome to join us in solidarity!
