REI Union
We are starting a union to create a better REI for all of us. Our co-op members inspire us to work harder every day, but we need better working conditions to continue to provide you with the Store of the Year level of service you deserve.
It is time for REI to courageously embrace change, to embody this tenet of the Co-op Way. REI is known for being "a different kind of company,” and has repeatedly set the standard for the retail industry by prioritizing sustainability and the wellbeing of our planet. Now, we are following their lead by asking them to recognize our union.
We're asking for REI to recognize our union and live up to these stated values:
- "Start from a place of respect" by valuing our hard work
- "Courageously embrace change" by recognizing the positive difference our union would bring
- "Strive for harmony in work and life" by giving us a voice in our own work-life balance
- Show that “the outdoors is for all" by being inclusive and supportive of all staff
- "Hold ourselves to a higher standard" by continuing to set an example for the retail industry as a company that respects the voices of its staff at all levels
